We arrived in the off-season, but there still seemed to be a lot to do in Myrtle Beach. It was much nicer than I expected. All the hotels had very low rates. We stayed at the Reef, a high rise hotel right on the beach. For $49 ($61 with tax) we got a room on the tenth floor facing the beach. The hotel was built about 25 years ago so it is not sparkling new, but there was nothing wrong with our room except the lack of wi-fi. When we called the desk, we were told someone would come up to check on it, but no one did. Cell phone connection was a little spotty, so if you are there on business and need to use the phone, that could be a problem on the tenth floor. All in all, it was a great stay and an incredible value. Trip Advisor Review from Prospect, Nova Scotia
My husband and I went to Myrtle Beach with our triplet 17 year old sons. We had a FANTASTIC time. It was the first time we stayed at the Reef and none of us had any complaints. The front desk employees were wonderful -- very helpful. Our room was cleaned daily. The staff at Makos Restaurant was wonderful -- great place to eat and have drinks. The entertainment daily by the pool was wonderful. They had DJ's who played music, had karoake and also played games with everyone -- not only the children. I can't say enough good things about our vacation. It truly was a wonderful time. Trip Advisor Review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
I stayed at The Reef in Myrtle Beach and overall had a wonderful time!! Our room was Oceanfront with a nice balcony and beautiful view!! The room was spacious....love the full kitchen so we can eat breakfast and lunch in our room, very convenient!!
The staff is always courteous and friendly. The remodled rooms are gorgeous. The view is outstanding and the location is great. Again the staff is what really makes each trip special, it's mind blowing how wonderful they all are.
The Reef is a very nice older well maintained hotel, it has several pools, one indoor, & 2 outdoor pools, which are both kid friendly, one is only like 2ft. deep with a waterfall tree thingy. It has direct beach access. The suite we stayed in was quite clean, with a seperate living & sleeping area, each with their own air conditioning unit..... There were 4 adults & 3 children & we had ample room. The balcony is wonderful with a fabulous view of the ocean & sunset....We had 3 children 7 & under, they enjoyed the pools & the sister hotel next door has a lazy river which went over wonderfully...
We stayed in the Penthouse Suite last summer and it was the BEST hotelroom I've ever stayed in! It was incredible! The best view on the beach! You could fit 20 people on the back balcony. Great kiddie pool and water fountain. I will definitely be back soon!!! AWESOME HOTEL!!!
Excellent hotel...very friendly staff, beautiful pools, stayed on the top floor..great view. Easy to find and close to everything. Nice restaurant. Will definitely return.
